Kelly Ripa can do no wrong as far as I am concerned. Aside from her witty nature and sartorial genius, I also admire her work on behalf of ovarian cancer awareness. Ms. Ripa has once again teamed up with Electrolux to create another fun awareness activity. Until September 7, you can log on to kelly-confidential.com and for every Serendipity 3 virtual banana split created, Electrolux will donate $1 toward ovarian cancer research, up to $40,000. You will also be entered to win a variety of prizes, which is a nice bonus. Click the ribbon below to get started – and remember, this split is calorie free!

Ode to the Commode
06.30
Shout out to Sara Brinkman for this easy tip for us Inactive Activists – click the icon below, then click the toilet to “flush,” and for every flush, $1 will be donated to the World Toilet Organization (up to $10,000). The WTO is a non-profit dedicated to improving toilet and sanitation conditions worldwide. Too bad the real flushes in my house don’t count!
Oscar Mayer’s Good Mood Mission
06.28
While trying to find nitrate-free hot dogs, I stumbled upon this neat little exercise. Log on to http://oscarmayer.com, type in a phrase to follow “It doesn’t get better than…” and follow a few simple steps to share your joy. Just finishing the sentence will donate one pound of food to Feeding America. If you click to share on Facebook, another five pounds will be donated. It literally took me about a minute and a half to donate six pounds of food. There’s nothing better than THAT!
Gulf Oil Spill… an inactive way to give
06.09
I think we can all agree that an extremely worthy cause right now is the Gulf Oil Disaster, which is going to affect us all for far longer than we even care to ponder. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I have not heard about a lot of ways we can help. Thanks to etsy, there is now a way to contribute to two organizations who will help the Gulf Coast recover. OxFam and (pending approval) Audubon International will split the profits from this special etsy shop to which etsy sellers have donated items, the profits for which will be donated to relief efforts. Shop for any of the items in this shop, and 100% of the profits will go to Gulf Coast relief efforts. Not only will you get a cool, handcrafted item, but your money will go directly to helping the people directly affected by this awful tragedy. If you are my friend or family member, don’t be surprised if you see items from this collection on your next birthday or holiday. Growing up 30 min from the white sands of Siesta Key, I can’t help but feel sick when I think about how this spill is going to taint our coastlines. Do your part and help!!!
