Huddle to Fight Hunger with a few simple clicks

2010
10.17

Here’s an easy one, Inactive Activists. Kraft has teamed up with Huddle to Fight Hunger and Pat and Gina Neely to donate meals to 20 million Americans. Log on to www.huddletofighthunger.com to find out the simple ways a few clicks can help. There is an easy four-field entry on the left side that donates one meal. Also, if you become (or already are) a fan of Kraft on FB, and upload a “Team Spirit” photo to their wall, they will donate 10 meals. The meals go to a food bank in your area, so this is a way to help locally by not moving from your VERY local couch. Great cause for the coming holiday season!

Rate Today, Supply Tomorrow with ConsumeU.com!

2010
08.27

Right now the folks at ConsumeU.com have a really great promotion going that is perfect for us Inactive Activists! For every 25 items you rate on their site (movies, music, tv, and books – fun for everyone!), they will donate a school supply to A Gift for Teaching. A Gift for Teaching provides teachers in Central Florida with much needed supplies for their classrooms, ensuring a better experience and future for Central Florida’s students. The other night I rated 100 items and it took me 12 minutes! That means it takes about three minutes of your time to donate one school supply.  Take that 20 minutes you normally spend perusing Perez and you could accrue 7 item donations!

If you’re not signed up yet, enrolling at ConsumeU.com takes about thirty seconds, and after that, every vote counts toward the school supply drive. This promotion runs from now through September 4th, so think of all the good you can do in that time!  Just click the professor below to get started.  Also, SHARE SHARE SHARE!  With a couple of clicks, you can send this post out to your FB friends and multiply the good!  This is the easiest A+ you’ll ever earn!

I just created and shared 10 sparkles on Facebook. Why? Because for every sparkle sent before December 31, 2010, Izze will donate $1 to the Global Education Fund, up to $25,000. Effortless good deed… go create your sparkle now! And if 10 of your sparkles are accepted, you’ll get a free shirt to boot.  Click the bottles below to get started.

Kelly Ripa can do no wrong as far as I am concerned. Aside from her witty nature and sartorial genius, I also admire her work on behalf of ovarian cancer awareness. Ms. Ripa has once again teamed up with Electrolux to create another fun awareness activity. Until September 7, you can log on to kelly-confidential.com and for every Serendipity 3 virtual banana split created, Electrolux will donate $1 toward ovarian cancer research, up to $40,000. You will also be entered to win a variety of prizes, which is a nice bonus.  Click the ribbon below to get started – and remember, this split is calorie free!

Shout out to Sara Brinkman for this easy tip for us Inactive Activists – click the icon below, then click the toilet to “flush,” and for every flush, $1 will be donated to the World Toilet Organization (up to $10,000). The WTO is a non-profit dedicated to improving toilet and sanitation conditions worldwide.  Too bad the real flushes in my house don’t count!

Oscar Mayer’s Good Mood Mission

While trying to find nitrate-free hot dogs, I stumbled upon this neat little exercise. Log on to http://oscarmayer.com, type in a phrase to follow “It doesn’t get better than…” and follow a few simple steps to share your joy. Just finishing the sentence will donate one pound of food to Feeding America. If you click to share on Facebook, another five pounds will be donated. It literally took me about a minute and a half to donate six pounds of food. There’s nothing better than THAT!
